Call For Workshops
“Call for pre-conference”
Dear GATE-people,
Whom of you is eager to facilitate a program, (longer) workshop or outdoor activity prior to the Gathering in May and within the theme “Growing (up) through outdoor experiences”?
We would love you to share your passion, skills and experience with a group of AT colleagues or even a specific target group (youngsters or adults).
Pre-conference Opportunities
Do you have a hands-on program you want to share or try out?
Do you want to take out a small group to immerse in nature or dive into a specific theme and let them grow?
We offer to support you in organizing this event, and assist in practical matters.
Participants can be non-GATE participants.
Location will be beyond our GATE basecamp.
Are you interested in facilitating a pre-conference activity?
If so, please complete the pre-conference submission form before February 14th. We will carefully review your proposal. And contact you to check out on practical matters (needs for location, materials, catering, finances, target group etc.)
By the end of February 2026, we’ll let you know whether your pre-conference activity has been selected.
Please note: As the facilitator, you are the final responsible and accountable person for your activity, make sure you have an insurance for this event.
No fees or discounts will be offered to facilitators.
Also this pre-conference is based on sharing knowledge and experience, with the goal of keeping costs low and participation accessible. Your contribution is highly valued and helps the Adventure Therapy network grow throughout Europe.

Call For Conference Workshops
Welcome Adventure Therapists and Enthusiasts!
We’re thrilled to announce that a dedicated team of Belgian adventure therapists—supported by UPC Gasthuisberg, Alba vzw, and University Center Leuven Limburg —will be hosting the 2026 GATE from May 19 to May 22, 2026.
Theme: Growing (Up) Through Outdoor Experiences Just like in nature, growth is a continuous, resilient, and interconnected journey
Workshop Opportunities
We invite you to contribute to our call for conference workshops. These sessions will take place at our basecamp and focus on sharing best practices in adventure therapy. True to our roots, we believe in learning by doing, so workshops will be hands-on and last either 1.5 or 3 hours.
Experience Day – May 20
We also welcome proposals for our Experience Day, a time to fully immerse ourselves in nature through movement, challenge, reflection, and connection. These maxi workshops can span either a half day or a full day, and will take place beyond our basecamp, exploring the beautiful natural landscapes Belgium has to offer.
Basecamp Location
Our gathering will be hosted at De Kluis in Sint-Joris-Weert, a serene forest setting nestled between Leuven and Brussels—an ideal backdrop for meaningful outdoor experiences.
